What to look for in a hotel by the sea

When traveling to a new destination, it’s easy to forget about all the little details that can make or break your trip. Whether you’re going on a relaxing family vacation or attending an important business conference, you need to make sure that the accommodations are comfortable and convenient. When searching for the perfect Llandudno hotel by the sea, here are some things to keep in mind when looking for the best seaside hotels in your area.

The location

First and foremost, find out where you’ll be staying. Ideally, you want it right on or just a short walk from a beach. If your vacation is set during peak season, book early to get your pick of locations that are convenient but aren’t already full up. Even if it’s off-season, consider booking ahead so you can choose where exactly you’d like to stay rather than hoping they have availability when you arrive (or end up paying more if they can’t accommodate you at your first choice).  Either way, pay attention to how far away you are from other attractions—you don’t want to spend half your trip traveling!

The view

As obvious as it may seem, good views can be hard to come by. Make sure your room has an unobstructed view of the water (or, at least, as unobstructed as possible). That way you’ll always have something nice to wake up to. Be aware that some hotels will charge more for rooms with a view, but if you want to go budget but still want that water-view we suggest checking out Airbnb and AirBnB which will most likely offer comparable options. While location isn’t everything when looking for your ideal vacation spot, it’s definitely worth considering if price is one of your biggest concerns when planning a getaway!

The pool

Pools make hotels popular, especially when you have children in tow. Just because you are enjoying a holiday in the UK doesn’t mean you have to skip this luxury when finding a hotel. Indoor pools are great as they are usually heated and means that the hotel you are staying in either features a spa or a gym too.  A pool is also a good place to meet other guests at your hotel and share tips on what to do during your stay. A pool can be a real bonus if you are travelling with young children who want to spend all day splashing around – it’s also fun for adults too!

Amenities you need

A good night’s sleep is key. Most hotels will offer free Wi-Fi, but it’s worth checking whether or not they have a business center with computers and printers. If you need to do some work while on vacation, that could be a deal breaker. Furthermore, you’ll want your room to have an ample closet or storage space where you can stow away your luggage and any personal items that don’t fit in your suitcase, such as toiletries or medicine. You should also try and find out what amenities are offered. Are there towels? What about hair dryers?  An ironing board? It may seem silly, but these things matter when you’re looking for a place to stay.
